Last year, with the support of many local businesses, through the efforts of dedicated volunteers from CNBBA we raised enough money to finance the day’s activities and most of the cost of installing new LED lighting on the Pine Valley Covered Bridge. In 2018 we enjoyed a very well attended day of activities at Covered Bridge Park: a Fishing Contest started the day, we had Games, Food Trucks, Music, Scout demonstrations and Family activities . The Fireworks Finale was a hugely popular attraction.
Many who attended asked if we would do this event every year. It was so much fun for so many area residents that we would like to make it the annual Spring Fundraiser event. The Borough has recently undertaken a Project to provide access to Orchard Park for the disabled and special needs visitors. Since the Civic Association supports this, permission has been given to add ADA parking and walkway facilities through Covered Bridge Park to access the new bridge over to Orchard Park.
This year’s net proceeds from Food Trucks & Fireworks Event will benefit the acquisition and installation of Playground Equipment specifically designed to serve Special Needs and Disabled Children in Covered Bridge Park. The Civic Association has been mindful of the need for such equipment but has been unable to budget the expense in the past. Due to the popularity of last year’s event we think that the time is right to raise the funds necessary to match our grant seeking efforts to fully fund the specialized playground equipment. There are no such facilities in this general area of Bucks County.
Civic is hopeful that, with the continued support of the generous donors from last year and our own resources, we can bring this project to the service of the community. Will you help us?
